Dear Community Members,
We are excited to invite you to the Drone814 Open House, a two-night interactive event showcasing how innovative drone technology is transforming emergency medical response across our region.
Drone814—also known as the ELSa-M3 initiative (Emergency Life Saving through Multi-Modal Mobility)—is a groundbreaking pilot program that uses drones to deliver critical medical supplies in advance of first responders. This effort is led by the Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission (SAP&DC) and supported by a powerful network of partners, including Aerium, St. Francis University, Cambria County Emergency Services, Somerset County Emergency Management, DroneUp, ATA, ACUASI, Aloft, and OneSky.
The Open House will feature six themed stations, allowing attendees to move at their own pace while learning about drone deployment, FAA safety protocols, emergency integration, and the overall community impact. Experts from our partner organizations will be on-site to answer questions, demonstrate equipment, and share the future vision for this program. Refreshments will be available, and we welcome your feedback as we continue to shape this effort with community input.
This is a free, public event—and we hope you’ll join us in exploring how Drone814 is helping to build a safer, more responsive healthcare system for southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond.
Should you have any questions or wish to speak with our team ahead of the event, please don’t hesitate to reach out to info@aerium.org.
We look forward to seeing you there!
The Drone 814 Team
